Survey Dover Plains is large scale pop-up exhibition showcasing the work of 17 artists working across painting, sculpture, installation, performance and film. Set within the hay loft of a large barn, Survey Dover Plains is curated around this unique and unconventional exhibition space. The show features large scale installations that utilize light and projections to illuminate the cavernous space, as well as suspended and free standing sculptural works.
The exhibition opens Saturday, July 20th 2-8pm at 5 Harts Rd, an up and coming venue and project space in Dover Plains, NY. The opening reception will host performances throughout the day as well as a screening of Confederitis, a film by Rbt. Sps. and Jillian McManemin, at 7pm.
Survey Dover Plains is curated by Amanda Brown and Stephanie Del Carpio. The curatorial duo organized last year's artBangall, a 35 person pop-up in the former Bangall Whaler, now Bangallworks, in Bangall, NY. Their collaboration focuses on creating exhibition opportunities for emerging artists in unconventional or underused spaces. This will be their second project in the Hudson Valley.
